Global Configuration

In order to open the Global Configuration window use one of the options:

1. Select Global Configuration by using the Tools menu or

2. left click the symbol in the applications toolbar within the main window.

Within the Global Configuration you can adjust different settings:

• General application settings

• Special cross-application chart settings

• Account definitions

• General entry, stop, and target parameters settings

• General stock, Forex and futures definitions

General

The General category is used to set general application options:

Left-hand side	Meaning
Profit / Loss Display Currency	Defines the currency used to convert the Profit/Loss for the: Position bar Position manager Trades manager Journal etc. Warning! When you change the Profit/Loss currency AgenaTrader ask to disconnect all active datafeed/broker connections
Show profit / loss as	The following options are available: Amount: sets the absolute amount of profit / loss for a position Percent: sets the percentage of realized profit based on the entry price Ticks: sets the number of ticks based on the entry price
Start Strategies Automatically	Enables or disables strategies running at the time of closing AgenaTrader to start up again once the trading platform is reopened.
Start Datafeed Automatically	Enables or disables all data feeds that were active at the time of closing AgenaTrader to reload/connect again once the trading platform is reopened.
Start Brokers Automatically	Enables or disables all connections to brokers that were active at the time of closing AgenaTrader to reload/connect again once the trading platform is reopened.
Default Web Page	Website that will appear when the integrated browser is opened.
Wait Until BackUp Datafeed Connect	Specified time (in seconds) after which the secondary data feed will be connected if the primary data feed fails.
Default E-mail Address	Set the email address at which you wish to receive emails from AgenaTrader.
Show Release Notes Again at Next Start	When activated, the Release Note will be shown each time AgenaTrader is started.
Open Dialogs on MousePointer	Opens Dialogs (e.g. detached windows) on the point at which the mouse indicator is located.
Keep Message Popups in Front	If activated, the alert window will be shown as modal and must be confirmed. If deactivated, the alert window does not need confirmation and will move into the background if ignored.
Auto Adjust Tick Sizes	If checked, the tick size of the instrument is calculated on the first 20 bars. This allows the CFD trading with Interactive Brokers.
Synthetic become Market on touch	If this function is activated then synthetic order will be executed as a market order.
Use Visual Studio	If active then the Visual Studio program will be opened instead of the internal Script (programming environment). To use this function Visual Studio Community 2017 must be installed.
Smooth charts	If activated all graphical noise of the charts are removed (needs graphic card memory and regular display frequency)
Autoupdate built-in static instruments lists	If activated all static instrument lists are updated via a server when ever a change in the list was updated.
Use digit grouping	If activated all values like order size and more are grouped like 1.000 intead of 1000. The function is activated by default.

TV-Streams

In this tab, user may configure (add/remove) TV streams.

To add new stream channel please use following steps:

• Enter stream name in Web-Stream field

• Insert stream Ur into Streaming-url field

• Click Add button

To remove stream channel please select stream from the list and click button Remove

Login

Allows you to define a password to unlock AgenaTrader. You can lock AgenaTrader with the CTR + BREAK (CTR + PAUSE ) key combination.

Chart

The Chart category allows you to set various chart options:

Left-hand side	Meaning
Right Margin on Chart n %	Sets the distance between the last period and the right border of the graph's pane
Upper / Lower Margin on Chart n %	Sets the amount of free space between the upper/lower borders in %
Snapshot Template	If enabled, the selected template will be used to create a snapshot of each closed trade. You can select tab chart group templates from the list (if you have already created them). If you do not select a template, then only the chart (time frame) in which the trade takes place will be saved as a picture. The stored snapshots are located here: AgenaTrader/TradeEscort/Files/Date/ChartImages/Trade. In order to change the appearance of the snapshot which is taken after every trade, choose a Chart Group Template of either a List Chart Group or Tab Chart Group. Show Indicator Information	Enables or disables the option to display frequently used indicators when you hover the mouse cursor over the chart.
Use ChartTraderBar-Boxes	If this is enabled: the entry line will be displayed as a box If this is disabled: the entry line will be displayed as a line
Manipulate Confirmed Order Bars	If this is disabled then only unconfirmed order bars can be ajusted: If this is enabled then you will be able to adjust confirmed order bars:
Autoscale Chart Trader Bars	Enabling this option scales the chart so that all chart trader bars (entry/stops/target) are visible. Let's assume that you run a trade using the day chart and then switch to the 5-minute chart. This may lead to orders on the 5-minute chart being too far away from each other, so that in order to display all orders the chart must be extremely compacted. So, check this box if you want all order bars to be shown inside the chart (autoscale). If order bars may also be located outside the chart, do not select this option.
Autoscale Chart Trader Markers	Enabling this option scales the chart so that all chart trader markers are visible.
Link Chartgroups to Static Instrument Lists	If a value is added/deleted inside a LCG/TCG, this will also be reflected in your static instrument lists and vice versa.
Print white chart background	If checked, charts will be printed with a white background.
Remember Price Scale	If checked, then current zoom settings will be applied to all instruments.
Show Info	If checked, the instrument information will be displayed on each chart without using the Info indicator. If this information shall only be displayed for specific chart the info indicator can still be used.
Show Spread Lines on Quick Trader	If activated the Quick Trader Bar will show Spread Lines.
Show Type of Data (Directly requested from datafeed of additionally process by AT)	If activated the Chart will display the information if a time frame is directly received from the data feed or AgenaTrader needs to process the time frame. Direct Charts will be loaded faster.
Broker/Datafeed indicator	If activated the Chart will display Broker/Datafeed connected status indicators. Details on page Navigating a chart

Right-hand side	Meaning
TabChartGroup auto synchronization	Synchronizes indicators for the entire tab chart group.
Auto synch. TimeFrame	Additionally synchronizes time frames.
Auto synch. AgenaTrader++	Synchronizes the activation and deactivation of AgenaTrader++ (plusplus)
Autoscale Price Panel	If this is enabled the price panel will automatically be adjusted to the price scale. This option is not appropriate for traders who would like to see a certain number of bars displayed on the chart.
Secondary data series starting point	Via the chart toolbar it is possible to add another data series inside the same chart. This secondary data series is displayed as a mountain chart. More than one additional data series can be loaded. (First Request : Date&Time when the data series was added. First Visible: the first point on the left site chart which is visible.)
Bars colors	Here you can define colors for profit, loss and background of chart trader bar

Financial Calendar

Financial Calendar allows to set default instruments in which alerts of the financial calendar are displayed.

Name	Meaning

Market Place Escort

The Marketplace Escort allows you to set various properties for the different trading exchanges: trading hours (Ext.Start / Start / End / Ext.Start according to the local time set on users' computers as well as a column with the time zone of the selected exchange), trading pauses, reversal times etc.

Trading hours

Trading hours are the official time periods during which trading takes place on exchanges. Trading hours always correspond to local time on users' computers.

AgenaTrader automatically assigns an exchange to an instrument being traded on the chart. Therefore each chart will display prices in correspondence with the official trading hours on the exchange.

This relieves you from the necessity of checking the exchange opening hours (start/end) for specific instruments in the list chart group and allows you to focus on trading decisions.

Exclude Weekend checkbox allows you to define the time frames for weekends to be excluded from the chart. If deactivate this checkbox, columns StartDay, Start Time, End Date, End Time become disabled.

The Marketplace Escort ensures that the trading hours are displayed correctly on your chart.

Additionally you can set over-the-counter trading hours within the Marketplace Escort, such as pre- and post-market hours (for example 0.5 = 1/2h). These time ranges will be included when loading a history for an instrument. In order to activate or deactivate over-the-counter price movements on the chart press the button on the chart toolbar.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

There CAN be differences between the close-prices of a trading session depending which intraday-timeframe you are looking at.

If trading end is 22:05 and you are looking at a 15min chart (which is directly received from datafeed), the last candle which will be shown is the candle closing on 22:00. (as the next candle would close on 22:15 and therefore will not be shown). However, if you switch down to the 1min chart, you will get data loaded into the chart until 22:05.

Therefore 15min candle shows the close price from 22:00 and 1min chart from 22:05 - this is where the differences are coming from.

For directly received timeframes we cannot split them to fit exactly to the trading session end.

IMPORTANT NOTE: not all brokers/data feed providers will provide you with the pre- or post-market historical price movements data.

If a data feed provider does not have these historical pre- and post-trade data, then only the pre-/post-trade data that AgenaTrader is able to record during the running period will be displayed (AgenaTrader must be opened during the pre- and post-trade period).

Trading pauses

During trading pauses the market is often uncertain and therefore traders do not wish to open new trades.

The trading pauses can be during:

• Trade opening: highly unpredictable market because the overnight orders are included.

• Midday break: due to dominated low volumes, markets are more vulnerable to shake-outs and other tricks.

• Trading end: it is not advisable to enter positions shortly before the daily trading halts.

During trading pauses AgenaTrader++ does not generate new signals; however, it is still possible to open new positions. If you wish to avoid running your trades during these uncertain times check the Flat checkbox in the Marketplace Escort. This will automatically close all trades and orders during the determined time. You will receive information in the Protocol tab when this happens.

Important note: if you wish to close your positions automatically shortly before the trading pauses begin, and also wish to not receive any newly generated signals for a certain amount of time before this, then you must define two trading pauses which flow into each other seamlessly.

With the Chart Color... settings you can choose which color is used as the background color for trading breaks. Note that the same color will be shown in the Analyzer-Escort Column during the trading pauses. In order to display the trading pauses it is necessary to open the available indicators by clicking the button on the chart toolbar, then add the Trading Times Background indicator to the chart and press the ОК or Apply button.

Reversal times

Reversal times are specific time ranges during the day in which it is statistically likely that an instrument will change its trend (direction).

This happens primarily due to a shift (increase or decline) in the volume during these specific time frames, which can be caused by:

• Beginning of lunch breaks

• Beginning of the afternoon sessions of large institutions

• EOD-positioning and other factors.

If these hours are known you can enter them into the Marketplace Escort within the Reversal Times tab.

Click the Chart Color button to set the color that will be displayed on the chart during a reversal time range. This will help you to recognize the information and if necessary react as soon as you see it. Note that the same color will be shown in the Analyzer-Escort Column during reversal times. In order to display the reversal times it is necessary to open the available indicators by clicking the button on the chart toolbar, then add the Trading Times Background indicator to the chart and press the ОК or Apply button.

ATTENTION! The markets do not obey regularities. Signals created within these time ranges may be relevant but there is no guarantee for success.

Automatic import

If you connect to a new data feed / broker in the account connection manager, the Instrument import popup will be displayed. Depending on which markets are selected in the instrument import popup, the relevant trading hours and exchanges will be loaded via a server. After selecting and importing all exchanges, the Marketplace Escort will display a dialog window in which you can set the exchange trading hours.

Please verify these trading hours and keep in mind that the US stock exchanges have different summer/winter phases which may result in display deviations.

ATTENTION! When using the internal simulation account, the correct input of trading hours is absolutely essential due to enormous deviations in spread that may exist in the pre-/post-market trading hours. This may lead to your orders being filled even if the price is far away from your order.

History Limitations

When downloading data for later replay. AgenaTrader will also use the additional amount of data displayed on these settings from the time immediately before you starting point.

Left-hand side	Meaning
Historical Days	Allows you to define time properties for the replay mode history in: seconds minutes hours WARNING! large history time frames can cause performance issues in replay mode.
Chart/Scanner History Settings	Snapshot History (Candles):Sets the history size (number of candles) for the chart snapshots. Regardless how many bars were loaded in chart, number of bars in snapshot will be defined here. Maximum Days to load NTB Charts : Maximum amount of days (history) for non-time-based charts (Range, Ticks, Volume, Renko) Maximum Bars to Load in Time Period: Maximum amount of bars for selected timeframe Max. Historical Transaction-History/Bars	Bars to Load in TimeBased Charts: Maximum amount of bars for timebased charts which display trades, positions, orders. Bars to Load NTB Charts: Maximum amount of bars for non-time-based charts which display trades, positions, orders. These charts available in tabs: Trades Manager, Order Manage, Execution and Trading Journal
Enable AutoReload Histories	Set an exact time when your datafeed will be reconnected and reload all history.

Discretionary Trading

The Discretionary Trading category allows you to enter general settings related to order size.

Option	Description
Default Order Size	Sets the suggested order size for strategies outside of AgenaTrader++. Due to the fact that some brokers demand a minimum order size, this setting can sometimes be ignored (if the entered amount is smaller than the minimum order size). In this case AgenaTrader will offer you the required minimum order size when placing an order.
Place Syntetic Order on Margin Violation	If the Account-Cash values get exceeded because of a margin violation AgenaTrader will place syntetic order

For the Futures, you may adjust some additional settings. Check the Show Rollover Alert checkbox if you wish to be shown the futures calendar window (see below) upon starting up AgenaTrader - it will appear if one of the major futures is n days before its rollover. The dialog window will open where the cursor is positioned.

In the Futures calendar window you will see the day of the month on which the rollover will take place:

• If the rollover date lies within the time range between the predefined days and the contract expiration date, then the corresponding cell will be highlighted in red.

• If the expiration date lies in the past, then the corresponding cell will be highlighted in light red.

• If the futures has already been rolled over to the next contract, then the corresponding cell will be highlighted in green.

By clicking on the symbol you will call up the detail window for the instrument within the Instrument Editor. Here you may make the necessary changes. More information about the rollover can be found in the section: Futures contract rollover.

ActionBar

Inside the ActionBar tab you can select settings for the panel on the right side of the chart

There are five main parameters:

Option	Meaning
Fixed Action Bars	Permanently displays the action bar next to the chart. However, you always have the possibility to keep the action bar visible by clicking on the "pins" icon (see below).
Open on Click in Price Scale	Displays the action bar only when you click on the price scale panel.
Open on Mouse Move	Displays the action bar only when you hover the mouse over the price panel.
Show Periodicities Slider Bar	Shows/hides the time slider.
Show Trading Pads	Shows/hides the Chart Trading Pad and the DOM, which are located at the top of the Actionbar.

Arrow Keys allow you to sort the entry escorts, intervals, instrument lists and the predefined indicators. Click on the object to be moved and relocate it by pressing the arrow keys.

The ActionBar is located to the right-hand side of the chart for quick access to various actions (favorites).

The ActionBar includes seven primary components:

Trading Pad	Hides or shows the standard chart trading pad/DOM/3rd level box depending upon what has been selected in the chart menu
Show Quick Trader	Opens the Quick Trader

Time frames	Sets the time frame for a current chart
Instrument Lists	Displays the selected instrument lists. If an instrument is already in a list, the text of the equivalent instrument list button will be displayed in red
Entry Escort	Allows you to select previously defined setups within the Setup Builder. A pair of B(Buy) and S(Sell) buttons refers to one entry strategy. When you use the EntryEscort, AgenaTrader++ will automatically be activated
Indicators	Displays buttons for indicators that are not permanently visible on the chart. When you hover the cursor above an indicator button it will be shown on the chart. Clicking the button will make the indicator visible on the chart until you unselect it by clicking again

Alerts

General

This category describes all user-defined alert in Agena Trader.

Advanced Alert Style	Is this function selected, then all triggered alert will be displayed altogether inside the message box. if this function is not activated then the standard settings will be applied and each alert will be shown separately.

Sound

This function allows you to assign different sounds to a particular order type:

Market Order Filled	After the execution of a Market order, selected sound will be played (the checkbox must be checked)
Limit Order Filled	After the execution of a Limit order, selected sound will be played (the checkbox must be checked)
Stop Order Filled	After the execution of a Stop order, selected sound will be played (the checkbox must be checked)
StopLimit Order Filled	After the execution of a StopLimt order, selected sound will be played (the checkbox must be checked)
Disconnected	After you disconnect broker or datafeed, selected sound will be played (the checkbox must be checked)
Tray Notification	After you get message in TradersYard chat, selected sound will be played (the checkbox must be checked)

Email Settings

The Email Settings allows to set a mailserver. This server will be used to send emails with AgenaTrader information e.g. TimeAlerts, PriceAlerts etc.

The following information can be set in the SMTP tab:

Default E-mail Address	This E-Mail address is used to send E-Mails from AgenaTrader. Needed for all E-Mail sending features e.g. Send E-Mail for Signals in Setup Builder. ([email protected])
Server address	e.g. agenatrader.com
SMTP Port	Default ports are 25, 587, 465
Use SSL	Use secure socket layer for coding and encoding your emails
SMTP Login	Login data e.g. [email protected]
SMTP Password	Login password
SMTP Password Again	Login password confirmation
From Address	Address from which the email should be sent
Test Address	Allows to check this functionality and send a test E-mail after all necessary data have been inserted.

Please note! Some E-Mail service providers such as Gmail prevent third-party providers from sending E-Mails via SMTP. In this case user must enable this functionality manually by using account settings of the corresponding E-Mail service provider here. Please go to Less secure apps section and turn on access for less secure apps.

Notifier (en)

Notifier settings allow you to activate Mobile Notifier for your device:

In order to activate Android device please activate Android checkbox and insert your device token in Android Device ID field.

In order to activate iPhone please select iOs (iPhone, iPad) checkbox and insert your device token in iOS Device ID field.

Hot Keys

This functionality enables you to assign various keystrokes as hotkeys.

There are several categories within the popup:

Many key combinations are preset in AgenaTrader but you can customize them according to your own preferences:

1. Left click in the field where the hot key is to be assigned

2. Enter the key from your keyboard in the field New Hot Key for this Action.

3. Click the Assign button to activate the new hot keys.

The other buttons in the popup have the following functions:

• Clear: deletes unconfirmed hot keys.

• Remove: deactivates the command and assigns "None" to the hot key.

• Restore Default Settings: returns all hot keys to the default settings.

Multiple functions: 1 key: e.g. F1 or 3 or T 2 keys: Switch or CTRL or ALT + Key 3 keys: Switch & CTRL + Key 4 keys: Switch & CTRL & ALT + Key

Print Shortcuts

Click the right mouse button and open the print options:

• Print: only the selected category will be printed.

• Print all: all categories will be printed.

Chart Groups

Allows user to assign various key strokes as hot keys for chart group.

Mark Item With this hotkey, You can mark/color a symbol:

To place order on a chart via TradeEscort hotkeys, the user should also press Ctrl for long and Alt button for short orders.

For example, user assign K button for ManualMode as a Hotkey. On a chart, the user should press Ctrl + K to place long or Alt + K to place short order.

TradersYard

This feature allows you to set settings for your account in the TradersYard social platform.

Login section contains:

• User logo (on the right side),

• Short user description

• Login: Allows the user to login.

• Logout: Allows the user to logout.

Trading Analytics section contains:

• Upload Closed Trades to TradersYard...: Means that your closed trades can be uploaded to TradersYard and are calculated for Trading Statisctic Visualization. With this feature, the user can compare his trading success with other traders.

Notifications section contains:

• Message in private chat received: Allows to get the notification when the user receives the message in private chat.

• Message in group chat received: Allows to get the notification when the message in group chat received.

• Message in webinar chat received: Allows to get the notification when the message in webinar chat received.

• Audio/Video streaming is started in group chat: Allows to get the notification when the streaming in group chat started.

• Audio/Video streaming is started in webinar chat: Allows to get the notification when the streaming in webinar chat started.

Chat section contains:

• Hide streaming messages in chat: Allows to hide streaming messages

Directories

The Directories category enables you to set directories' paths.

This tab shows the following:

User's directory	Folder containing the user data needed to maintain the same appearance for the workspace, templates, self-programmed indicators etc. (if you work for example using Dropbox or server). The file store.sdf contains all the information about executed trades, orders, OrdersLog, instrument and connection settings, alerts, and notes.
Data Directory	Folder containing local user data such as history, protocol, replay data, etc.

User directory

The user data is automatically saved in the ".../Documents/AgenaTrader" folder. You can change this manually in the Global Configuration.

The following folders are contained in the user's directory:

• Templates - contains saved templates for list chart groups or tab chart groups as well as your pre-settings for various drawing objects (Fibonacci-retracements etc).

• TradeEscort/Files/Date/AgenaTraderLog.log - the log files for each individual day.

• TradeEscort/Files/Date/Chart images/Trade - screenshots that are automatically taken after a trade.

• UserCode. Please read more about the UserCode directory in the section: Scripting: Compile.

• Workspaces - your workspaces are saved in this folder.

Data directory

• History - contains saved historical data from your data feed provider. Under certain circumstances this folder may become rather large.

• Logs - specific log data is saved here.

• Replay Data - contains saved replay data. Similar to the history folder, this folder may become large as well.

Important!

AgenaTrader validates user directory version and compares it with the installed version If the version in user directory is higher than installed version user will get the popup:

Click OK button to install latest AgenaTrader version. Cancel button will skip the process.
