Recommendations for Installing the AgenaTrader Software **1. Firewall / Antivirus Software** When starting the application, AgenaTrader performs a license key validation by contacting our license server. Please ensure that this process is permitted by your firewall, antivirus software, or any other security tools. If blocked, you may encounter a "License Key Expired" message, which restricts your AgenaTrader access to the free license features. After completing the installation, refer to the relevant [**Connection Guide**](https://app.gitbook.com/o/-MVa4bg-WPt0s_0Xpv-A/s/Sb9KiaeLmZhUGHJdWN19/main/broker-and-datafeeds-connections/connection-guides) to establish a connection with your broker or data feed provider. **2. TCP Ports Used by AgenaTrader** For AgenaTrader to function correctly, the following TCP ports must remain unused by other applications: * **7778:** Main AgenaTrader service for licensing * **7779:** Connection to the instrument database * **7780:** Service for sending support user data **3. Clearing Browser Cache** If you are downloading or upgrading to a new version of AgenaTrader, you may need to clear your browser cache to avoid issues such as "Cabinet File Errors" or problems with temporary files. In case of such errors, please follow these steps: 1. Open your web browser. 2. Clear your browsing history/cache. 3. Attempt the download again. If the issue persists, try using a different web browser (e.g., Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer).
## **License key TBD** In order to be able to use AgenaTrader, you need a license key. Your license key was sent to you via email by our online shop provider. Please keep this email in a safe place and save the license key securely on a storage medium. The email also contains the access data for your online shop account, where you can quickly and easily revise your products and cancel or order new subscriptions. If you have not received this email, please check in your spam folder - occasionally, regular emails get lost there too. If you have no email from us there either, please get in contact with our support. ### **License activation** Open the file key.dat using the program Editor or Notepad in Windows. Apple also offers text editing programs with which you can open this file.
Enter the license key in the AgenaTrader licensing setup. You will find this in the main menu bar under the button "Licensing". The main key (Basic, Andromeda, etc.) must be entered in the top field "Activation Key"; then, click on the button "Activate". The message box below then shows you whether your license has successfully been activated.
### **Demo Request** The demo version is a complete application, equipped with all the necessary features for trading. To get demo version please click on **Request Demo Key** button. In open dialog filled forms: First Name, Last Name, E-Mail, Language and activate checkboxes. After click **Request Demo Key** button. You will NOT be under ANY obligations, DO NOT have to cancel anything and there is also NO transfer to an automatic purchase. ### AgenaTrader on Multiple Devices With an activation key, you can work from multiple devices (PC, laptop, etc.). However, it is not possible to access the AgenaTrader license key from multiple devices simultaneously. The license key permits only one instance/access at a time. ### Resetting AgenaTrader to Previous Settings: Backup To protect your privacy, we do not store customer data on our servers. AgenaTrader is purely client-side software. Therefore, we strongly recommend you back up your data! ### Does AgenaTrader Support MAC OSX (Apple)? AgenaTrader is developed for Windows and cannot be installed on Mac (Apple). Many customers successfully use virtual machines on Mac (Apple) to run Windows (e.g., Parallels). ### Will My Data Be Preserved During an Update? You will be notified via a popup when a new update is available, and we recommend installing it. Only system data will be updated; your personal data (e.g., user directory, workspace, instruments, conditions) will be preserved. ### Download the Latest AgenaTrader Release Downloads are available 24/7 on our homepage. Generally, you will be prompted to update via a popup upon restarting if an update is available.
